SpaceX Crew-11 returns to Earth Following Medical Emergency
January 15, 2026 – A SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule, dubbed Endeavor, made an emergency return to Earth today, bringing four astronauts back to the planet after a 167-day mission aboard the international Space Station (ISS). The unscheduled return was prompted by a “serious medical condition” affecting one of the crew members, requiring immediate attention on the ground [@NASA].
Emergency Descent and Splashdown
The Crew-11 mission, consisting of two U.S.astronauts, one Japanese astronaut, and one Russian cosmonaut, undocked from the ISS yesterday evening and began it’s descent. The capsule successfully splashed down in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of california this morning, completing a ten-and-a-half-hour journey capped by a fiery re-entry into Earth’s atmosphere.
