When an AI provides a suggestion that a user accepts and tweaks, the final result feels like a product of the user’s own decision-making process.

The study suggests that the more an AI is used for creative work—such as brainstorming ideas, drafting texts, or refining slogans—the more likely the user is to overwrite the memory of the AI’s contribution with a memory of their own effort.
